Unemployment rates dropped, jobs actually lost in transport servies

While the unemployment rate showed a slight reduction in the second quarter of 2022, there’s concern that jobs were actually lost in manufacturing and transport services. This is the word from Chief Economist at Econometrix, Dr Azar Jammine. The Quarterly Labour Force Survey shows that 648 000 jobs were created between the first and second quarter, mainly in community and social services, trade and finance. Jammine says the jobs created could be a reflection of the country recovering from the lockdown.
