The 51-year-old man, who led last week’s protests at the Senekal court, was denied bail earlier today. André Pienaar was arrested last week, after storming the court-building, after the appearance of the suspects accused of the murder of farm foreman, Brendin Horner. Magistrate Buti Mlangeni says it is uncertain whether Pienaar, due to his bipolar disorder, will be able to be controlled if he is released on bail. The State also says that video footage shows Pienaar strangling a female police officer. Pienaar’s trial has been postponed to 20 November.
