Police have launched an urgent investigation after four people were shot and killed in a home in Bishop Lavis on Friday evening.

According to provincial police, the deadly incident took place around 7:15pm at a residence in Reënberg Street.

Two unknown gunmen reportedly entered a bedroom in the house and opened fire on four victims — two women and two men — aged between 27 and 80 years old. All four died at the scene from gunshot wounds to their upper bodies.

The suspects fled in a VW Polo and have not yet been arrested.

The Anti-Gang Unit’s Serious and Violent Crime Investigations team has been assigned to the case. Police have opened four murder dockets and say the motive is still under investigation.
