Celebrated author, broadcaster and political analyst, Eusebius McKaiser has died today. His manager, Jackie Strydom, confirmed his death. McKaiser was 44-years-old.
“Unfortunately, I can confirm that it is true,” Strydom told News 24. “He died earlier this afternoon in Joburg,” she said when asked about reports of McKaiser’s death.
TimesLIVE reports that the renowned journalist died after suffering a suspected epileptic seizure. They credit Strydom with this information. She adds that he was going about his day, without signs of ill health. See his last Facebook post:

“It all happened so quickly. His partner Nduduzo Nyanda is at the mortuary with his family,” Strydom told TimesLIVE. “I am so distrught. I can’t believe it,” she said.
McKaiser features on the Rhodes website, where he is revered as a political activist and an associate political and social analyst at the Wits Centre for Ethics. There he engaged in research looking into the relationship between civil society and the state in the policy realm.
