Springbok captain Siya Kolisi has inspired the Junior Springboks during a training session in Gqeberha. He delivered an uplifting message to South Africa’s rising rugby stars during a surprise visit to the Junior Springboks’ training session at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha. The visit followed the Junior Boks’ impressive win over Argentina in the opening round of the U20 Rugby Championship.

A proud son of the Eastern Cape, Kolisi expressed joy at returning home: “It’s amazing to be in Gqeberha, where people are passionate about rugby. Seeing the hard work and unity within this team gives me hope for the future of South African rugby. Kolisi, known for his leadership and humility, motivated the young squad: “I reminded them how special it is to wear the jersey and represent the entire nation. They must enjoy the moment, dream big, and aim for the highest level.”

The Junior Springboks’ captain, Riley Norton, reflected on the moment: “Having Siya at our session was an unforgettable experience. His words inspired us, and we’re grateful he took time to support us.” Kolisi also praised local fans after nearly 9,000 supporters turned up for the opening game:

Don’t miss the next round of the U20 Rugby Championship on Tuesday, 6 May. New Zealand faces Argentina at 14:00, followed by South Africa vs. Australia at 16:10. Tickets are only R20 and available via Webtickets or at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium ticket office.
