Three people have been killed in a crash involving a heavy motor vehicle and two minibus taxis on the N7 near Dunoon on Thursday, 27 August 2026.
Western Cape Mobility Department Chief Director for Traffic Management, Maxine Bezuidenhout, confirmed the incident.
“We confirm an incident on the N7 at about 8.30am close to Dunoon, where a heavy motor vehicle and two minibus taxis were involved in a collision.”
Bezuidenhout said three fatalities have been reported, while four people sustained serious injuries.
“Three fatalities are confirmed and four people sustained serious injuries. All teams are on site attending to the scene.”
The N7 southbound at Potsdam Road has since been closed while emergency teams work at the scene.
Bezuidenhout has urged motorists to avoid the area and use alternative routes.
“We urge motorists to avoid the area, use alternate routes and exercise caution as emergency teams continue working at the scene.”
