Government leaving it to the last minute to confirm fuel prices for June

Published on

There has still not been an official fuel price increase announcement for June.

The price of petrol could cost nearly R25 per litre from midnight. Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana and Energy Minister Gwede Mantashe met over the weekend to discuss how government can intervene.

n the absence of an extension of the R1.50 reduction in the fuel levy, the price of fuel is set to increase by nearly R4 per litre.

OUTA says the rise in fuel prices is in line with global oil prices resulting from Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
