Taylor Swift Pays $55m in Bonuses to Tour Crew

Published on

It’s no Cruel Summer for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour crew!

The I Can See You singer-songwriter has reportedly given $100,000 bonuses to each of her tour truck drivers. TMZ reports that Swift has some 50 drivers on her tour, making the total amount of money about $5 million in bonuses!

PEOPLE Magazine says Swift also paid bonuses totaling about $55 million to the rest of her crew including dancers, sound technicians, catering crew and riggers among others for working on her gigantic show.

News of the massive bonuses comes just days before Swift is about to wrap up her US leg of the Eras Tour in California. All six shows – and the over 70,000-seat stadium – part of the big finale are sold out.

Record-breaking shows

The Bejeweled singer kicked off her tour back in March. She dazzled fans with her Grammy Award-winning career, that spans over 40 songs.

Some media outlets report that the entire Eras Tour so far has generated about $300 million in gross revenue.

Swift’s 2018 Reputation stadium tour broke her own record for the highest-grossing tour by a female artist in the US and North America.

A title previously held by the 1989 World Tour, which grossed $202.3 million across 53 shows.

Since then, her concerts have seen a number of famous faces dancing in the crowds to her performances. The likes of Gigi Hadid, Drew Barrymore and even Mark Zuckerberg and his family were attended the Eras Tour.

Star-studded cameos, international tour dates

Swift recently released her re-recording Speak Now (Taylor’s Version).

Amid the release she surprised fans at her Kansas City tour stop with a stage appearance by Presley Cash, Joey King and Taylor Lautner.

The trio features in the action-packed music video for I Can See You. Both King and Presley made appearances in the 2011 Mean music video. Lautner is Swift’s ex that inspired Back to December.

“I recorded this album when I was 32 (and still growing up, now) and the memories it brought back filled me with nostalgia and appreciation. For life, for you, for the fact that I get to reclaim my work. Thank you a million times, for the memories that break our fall,” she wrote on Instagram amid the record’s release.

Back in June, Swift said she would be travelling around the world in 2024. There are planned shows across Europe, Australia and Asia.
