Stellenbosch University: 2 scientists make TIME 100 Most Influencial People list

Stellenbosch University’s Rector and Vice-Chancellor Prof Wim de Villiers has lauded 2 scientists associated with the University after they were selected for this year’s TIME 100 Most Influential People list. Prof Tulio de Oliveira and Dr. Sikhulile Moyo have been recognized for their work in the field of genomics and epidemiology. In November 2021, they led the multidisciplinary team who discovered the Omicron variant of Covid-19. De Villiers says the University is immensely proud of the 2 scientists.
