Second case of Monkeypox in SA, male in Western Cape

The National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) has confirmed the second case of monkeypox in South Africa, identified through laboratory testing today. The case involves a 32-year-old male residing in the Western Cape. He reports no recent travel history. Contact tracing has commenced. NICD Executive Director, Professor Adrian Puuren says it is unknown if the first and second cases of the virus are linked:
