Ramaphosa: Buying local now more important than ever

Published on

President Cyril Ramaphosa says buying local is now more important than ever.

He was addressing delegates at the opening of the 2022 Buy Local Summit & Expo this week.

This annual summit is aimed at informing, educating, and equipping local entrepreneurs to create more employment opportunities using local procurement as a lever for growth.

Ramaphosa says the economic damage, caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, has placed even greater demands on businesses to provide employment and livelihood opportunities.

Ramaphosa says the government is reducing red tape and removing the barriers to entry for emerging companies.
