As soon as the devastating fire broke out on Sunday in Cape Town, Gift of The Givers were ready to step in and help. With severe damage to property and thousands being displaced, the organisation has been able to supply meals for 4000 students who are being housed in different hotels and houses across the city until they are able to return to their accommodation on campus. The organisation’s founder Dr. Imtiyaz Sooliman spoke to Smile Breakfast about their response and what it takes to run the largest disaster response, non-governmental organisation of African origin on the African continent:
