‘But Here We Are’
The livestream was recorded at the band’s 606 studios in California. And included performances of songs from their new album as well as behind-the-scenes footage of the recording.
But Here We Are was previously described in a press statement as an “emtionally raw” response to the things the band has endured over the last year. It was also said to be a “testament to the healing powers of music, friendship and family” said Far Out Magazine.
Who the heck is Josh Freese
The Foo Fighters made the announcement during their livestream on May 21 – with a humorous sketch that teased other iconic drummers like Motley Crue’s Tommy Lee, Tool’s Danny Carey and Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith.

Since drummer Taylor Hawkins’ sudden passing in March 2022 – and the band’s confirmation to continue making music – many famous drummers were rumored to join the crew.
Josh Freese is not new to the rock drummer scene. He has played for iconic bands including Guns N’ Roses, Paramore and Blink-182 among other groups. Fans were expecting him to join the band as Freese recently cancelled gigs with The Offspring and Danny Elfman.
