The budget for the for the Western Cape Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport has been increased by nearly R40 million.

MEC Anroux Marais says more money can now be set aside for school holiday programmes, outreach projects and sports initiatives.

Marais says they need to ensure there are opportunities for young people in the Western Cape.
