A deadly shooting in Marikana, Philippi East, claimed the lives of three men on Monday morning.

The victims, including a 30-year-old man and two men believed to be in their twenties, were discovered at the corner of Sheffield and Nondlwana Roads around 06:30.

Police spokesperson Andre Traut says the Philippi East SAPS has opened three murder dockets and is investigating the circumstances of the incident, including the motive.

“We maintain our uncompromising stance against violence and call on the community to assist police in bringing the perpetrators to justice. Acts of violence continue to threaten the safety and well-being of our communities, and we urge anyone with information to come forward.”

No arrests have been made so far, but detectives are pursuing all leads.
