Police are investigating the gruesome killing of four people in Du Noon on Sunday afternoon, 23 August, in what appears to be a case of vigilantism.
Officers were called out to the N7 off-ramp on Maibongwe Drive, where they discovered the burnt remains of the four people on an open field. They were found a few metres apart. Their identities are not yet known.
According to police, determinations were made at the crime scene that tyres were used to set the victims alight.
Sergeant Wesley Twigg said the circumstances surrounding the crime incident remain unclear and the motive is yet to be determined.
Serious violent crime detectives are probing the matter.
