Loyalty programmes and using them effectively

Published on

We’ve all probably got some or other form of loyalty card from our grocery stores, pharmacies, and restaurants. But do we actually take full advantage of them? Probably not. The amount of unclaimed loyalty points is stacks up to billions across the globe. The Ryan O’Connor Breakfast show spoke about it today and got some great advice to turn ourselves into effective “point squirrels” (as described by one of our listeners).

Danish data management company Queue-It found that loyalty programmes seem to be a growing trend that continues to benefit businesses and consumers, and the point systems are only going to get bigger.

So based on our conversation this morning, here are some of the Ryan O’Connor Breakfast Show’s tips to get the most out of your loyalty points and programmes:

  1. If, like Ryan, you forget about all of your points make sure you have a partner like his wife Karen to remind you to use them.
  2. Be like Producer Phil and ask all your friends and family what they need at the shops. Get the money from them and buy everything so you can get the points from their purchases.
  3. If you hate having a crammed wallet (we’re not talking about cash) get the app Stocard to keep all your loyalty cards in one place – your phone.
