Dpt. of Agriculture to intervene after Botswana, Namibia blocks SA produce crossing borders

Agri SA has written to the Minister of Agriculture, Thoko Didiza to request her urgent intervention after Botswana and Namibia took unilateral action to block several South African agricultural commodities from crossing their borders. The bans include, among others, tomatoes, potatoes, beetroot, cabbage and coloured peppers. But Agri SA’s Executive Director, Christo van der Rheede says trade agreements are in place.
