Entities call for National Assembly to seek Eskom solution

The UDM has written to Speaker Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula to demand she convene an urgent sitting of the National Assembly, seeking a solution to the Eskom debacle. Despite Parliament being in recess, the party seeks an urgent debate on Eskom’s failings, which have led to  rolling blackouts. The country was plunged into Stage 6 load shedding on Tuesday. In addition, last month, the DA called for a parliamentary debate on the fuel price.
Meanwhile: Loadshedding has reverted back to Stage 4 this morning as Eskom works to get generation units back online. For the past 2 days, Stage 6 loadshedding was implemented nationally and the City of Cape Town, on Stage 4. Yesterday the city was on Stage 2. Eskom spoke-s-person Sikonathi Mantshantsha says restoring the grid won’t happen overnight
