Transport Minister, Fikile Mbalula has announced a truce among Western Cape taxi associations.
The agreement follows weeks of talks to try and stop the on-going taxi-violence her.
The Cape Amalgamated Taxi Association (CATA) and the Congress of Democratic Taxi Association (Codeta) have participated in the talks.
It is estimated that more than 80 people have, since the start of the year, been killed in the taxi-related violence in the Western Cape.
The B97 taxi-route between Paarl and Bellvile was closed last week, to stem the violence.
