Western Cape’s Covid-19 death toll surpasses the 15-thousand mark.

The Western Cape’s covid-19 death toll has now surpassed the 15-thousand mark.

The province’s covid death toll now stands at 15,288, after more than 200 Western Cape residents died due to covid-19 complications over the weekend.

The Western Cape currently reports an average of 104 covid-related deaths.

Amid the third wave, just more than 39 000 people are currently infected with the virus.

Of the current active cases in the province, the Western Cape government reports that more than 22 000 are in the metro, while 15 500 are in rural areas.
