Britain announced earlier today that South Africa is one of the countries that will remain on its Covid-19 red list.

The UK government has advised its residents not to travel to SA now, unless it is absolutely necessary.

South Africa remains on the list along with 55 other countries.

Only people who are British or Irish citizens, or people who has residency-status in Britain are allowed to travel from those countries to Britain.

Britons returning from red-list countries must spend ten days in compulsory quarantine.
