President Cyril Ramaphosa says taverns and clubs that sell alcohol to the underaged will be closed down permanently, as he has instructed the police and liquor authorities to act against these outlets breaking the law. Ramaphosa delivered the main eulogy at the mass funeral service of the 21 teenagers, who died at the Enyobeni tavern in Scenery Park, East London, late last month. Ramaphosa has suggested that there be a discussion about possibly raising the legal drinking age.
