We are heading into Spring…  and it might still be chilly, but things are going to start warming up and even heating up soon. California might be going into Autumn, or Fall, as they call it, but things are still VERY HOT there.  A Los Angeles-based content creator by the name of Nikki is currently going viral for a video in which she showcases how hot California is by curling her hair on — wait for it — a metal pole outside.

I’ll just let that sink in for a minute.

The video in question, which was reposted by @boy on Instagram, has amassed over a million views in less than 24 hours. It’s now siting just under 2 million views.

In the short clip, Nikki begins by saying, “It’s so hot out in California. Let me show you this.” She then proceeds to walk over to a metal pole and wrap a section of her hair around it, allowing the curl to sit for around 5 to 10 seconds. Finally, she lets her hair loose and a perfect curl bounces back at her. When it does, she covers her mouth, clearly surprised that it actually worked. “OMG, it curled my hair!” she screams.

Cute as it may be, this is not a hair curling technique I’d ever recommend trying at home, as it could easily singe your hair off, or even worse, leave you with a bad burn. Do yourself a favour and stick to your hot tools & thermal protector sprays, my friends.

Here’s the viral video:
