NO, YOU WON’T GET ARRESTED FOR EATING HOT CROSS BUNS WHILE DRIVING

Published on

So you’ve seen the viral video where a traffic officer eats a hot cross bun, which then shows a breathalyser false positive reading of 0.21mg. The legal alcohol breath limit for driving in South Africa is less than 0.24mg per 1,000ml of breath.

The Western Cape Government has now released its own video, dispelling the myth that a hot cross bun can get you arrested at a roadblock:

So be rest assured, driving and eating hot cross buns will not land you in trouble.

Here is the original video, if you haven’t seen it yet.
