Eskom has confirmed that its teams are attending to power disruptions in the Grabouw area.

The utility says more than 9,000 customers are affected by the unplanned power outage that occurred on Friday morning.

“Approximately 9,350 Eskom customers in Grabouw and its surrounding areas are affected. At this stage, an estimated restoration time (ETR) is not yet available. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.”

Eskom has since apologised for any inconvenience, urging residents to allow its teams the time and space needed to restore electricity as quickly and safely as possible.

“Eskom apologises for the inconvenience caused and appreciates the patience and understanding of affected customers.”

Affected customers are urged to treat all electrical installations as live. Eskom further appeals to the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities around electricity infrastructure to the Eskom Crime Line on 0800 11 27 22.
