The Western Cape Education Department says it is ready for the inoculation of teachers to commence in the province, this afternoon.

Dozens of school-support staff and teachers will, from 2pm, receive their Covid-19 jabs at the Metro Emergency Medical Service vaccination point in Pinelands.

The Head of Education in the Province, Brent Walters, MEC Debbie Schäfer, union representatives, principal association members and other public service staff will attend the launch.

Director of communications at the Department, Bronagh Hammond says teachers in rural areas will receive their vaccine as from the 25th of June.
