The National Assembly and the National Council of Provinces will hold joint sittings today and tomorrow to debate the State of the Nation Address at the Cape Town City Hall.

The President will reply to the debate at a joint sitting on Wednesday.  The debate and President’s reply will take the form of hybrid sittings. In line with covid-19 regulations, a limited number of MP’s and the media will be physically present at the City Hall, and others will link up on a virtual platform. Meanwhile: Wednesday’s reply of the President will mark an end to the status of the City Hall as the precincts of Parliament, and the business of Parliament will return to the regular precincts in Parliament Street. Cape Town Traffic says several roads around City Hall will be closed today.
