Motorists will have to dig deeper into their pockets from midnight, when a record increase in the fuel price takes effect. Petrol will cost more by between 94 cents and R1 a liter. A liter of diesel will from tomorrow, cost between 63 and 65 cents more. According to the Automobile Association, the record price increase can be attributed, in part, to the fuel levy of 26 cents per liter, which came into effect on 1 April.
