Road closures to take note of ahead of the Two Oceans Ultra Marathon this Sunday

The organisers of the Two Oceans Marathon say extensive consultation did take place with churches ahead of the Ultra Marathon which is to be held on Easter Sunday.

The organisers say their traffic management plan ensures minimal road closures around churches, and anyone wishing to attend a place of worship on Sunday will not be impeded from doing so.

The following roads will be closed/have limited access on Easter Sunday 17th April 2022:

ULTRA MARATHON ROAD CLOSURES & RESTRICTIONS – Sunday 17 April 2022 : St James, Kalk Bay and Fish Hoek Areas

Main Road: Steenberg to MuizenbergSteenberg Rd to Atlantic Rd – Southbound lane closed, use Westlake Ave and Boyes Drive as an alternative route05h30 – 07h45
Main Road: Muizenberg to Fish HoekTraffic travelling South and North to or from the South PeninsulaMotorists travelling wishing to travel to or from the South Peninsula will be diverted over Ou Kaapse Weg.Traffic travelling to and from Kommetjie / Simonstown Roads through Fish Hoek will be diverted via Beach RoadLocal egress/access onlyBetween Muizenberg (Atlantic Road) and Kalk Bay (Clairvaux Road). Vehicles may only travel westwards.Between Kalk Bay (Clairvaux Road) and Clovelly (Clovelly Road) a Stop/Go convoy system will operate. Boyes Drive will remain open.Main Road Fish Hoek – Traffic will be diverted via Beach RoadVehicles wishing to access churches in the Fish Hoek Valley area will be allowed to proceed via Recreation Rd.05h45 – 08h30
Kommetjie Road: Fish Hoek>From Main Road to Corsair Way, Sun Valley, motorists to share westbound (direction Kommetjie) lane. Runners use eastbound lane. Drive with caution.Vehicles wishing to access churches in the Fish Hoek Valley Area will be allowed proceed via 16th Avenue06h00 – 08h45
Ou Kaapse WegRemains open in both directions: Expect Delays – Stop / Go control at Noordhoek Main Rd.06h15 – 09h00
