President Cyril Ramaphosa will address the nation at 8 pm this evening (Mon 11 Jan) on developments in relation to the country’s response to the coronavirus pandemic. The address follows meetings of the National Coronavirus Command Council, the President’s Coordinating Council and Cabinet.

The minister of health, Dr. Zweli Mkhize says Gauteng has the most new corona virus cases since yesterday after KwaZulu-Natal recently recorded the most new cases. The Western Cape reported the third most new cases. At the same time, the Northern Cape reported the fewest new cases. Mkhize also said active cases in the country have surpassed the 230 000 mark.
