Police commissioner to mobilise resources after female 2 officers shot dead

National police commissioner General Fannie Masemola has directed the provincial commissioners of the Western Cape and Gauteng to ensure maximum mobilization of resources after 2 women officers were killed this week. In the first incident, 34-year-old Constable Prudence Maseko was shot dead on her way to work in Ekurhuleni. In the second incident, 26-year-old Constable Shamila Arendse was shot dead outside her home in Delft on Tuesday night. Arendse was attached to the Table Bay Harbour police station and was off-duty at the time of her death. Recently, 2 officers attached to the Benoni Flying Squad were shot while patrolling the N12. One later died.
