Police are investigating the death of a 22-year old woman, the fiance of rapper AKA, who fell to her death from one of the floors in the Pepper Club Hotel, in the Cape Town CBD. The 2 got engaged in February and the rapper has already paid lobola. The family of Anele Tembe has confirmed her "untimely passing", calling her a "beloved fiancé, daughter, sister and daughter-in-law.

The Head of Health in the Western Cape, Dr Keith Cloete says the province is continuing to monitor waste-water systems – for any sign of Covid-19 outbreaks in com-mu-ni-ties. The initiative is being led by the Medical Research Council, in collaboration with municipalities. Cloete says the province is in what he calls ‘containment mode’ – with teams on high alert for any possible sign of cluster outbreaks. He says in the Metro alone, 15 waste water treatment plants are being monitored.

The DA has postponed its internal interview of who should stand as the party’s mayoral candidate for Cape Town. According to party insiders the selection process of the panelists has not been finalised and a new process of the panel selection is underway. DA Provincial Leader Bonginkosi Madikizela, incumbent Mayor Dan Plato, and DA Member of Parliament Geordin Hill-Lewis have thrown their hats into the ring for the position of mayor. Party insiders say that there is currently a dispute on who should serve on the selection panel.
