MATCH-IN-AFRICA RAISES MILLIONS FOR EDUCATION IN AFRICA

It was a spectacular Friday night for those lucky enough to witness the Match-In Africa festival at the Cape Town Stadium, with Tennis greats Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal wowing about 50 000 spectators.

The much-anticipated event, also featuring legends in their own right, Bill Gates and our own Trevor Noah, may be done and dusted, but it’s impact will be felt for a very long time.

Not only has this amazing spectacle again proven why Cape Town has been ranked the best event destination in Africa, but all the proceeds will be going towards education projects run by the Roger Federer Foundation.

Over 1.5 million children on the continent have been benefitting from a better quality in education due to the Foundation’s engagement since 2003.

South Africans have claimed the Swiss maestro as one of their own, and he credits his South African born mom Lynette, for many of his own character traits.

But the one thing that mom Lynette still has to do, is to teach him some more Afrikaans!
