Imagine scrolling through your social media feed and stumbling upon a picture of a striking police officer. The internet went wild, and suddenly, Cox found himself in the spotlight, earning the title of “SA’s sexy police officer.”

Devan Cox became an overnight sensation, captivating the hearts of not only women but also men across South Africa. His chiseled features and perfectly fitted police uniform garnered attention from all corners of the internet.

However, Cox’s newfound fame came with consequences. As per regulations, police officers are prohibited from sharing photos of themselves in uniform on personal social media accounts. Unfortunately for Cox, he found himself on the wrong side of the law, facing disciplinary action for his social media posts.

Cox was charged with violating the instructions stating that police officers may not publish photos of themselves in uniform, or carrying police weapons or logos, on their social media platforms. Cox, who is part of the SA Police Service (SAPS) Flying Squad, was summoned to a disciplinary hearing after he violated national SAPS instructions by representing the police on his social media platforms.
