[LISTEN] School Stationery Swindle or is it?

It’s the last week before public schools officially start next week and that means shopping for that all-important stationery.

School stationery lists are getting wilder and wilder and Ricardo shared his child’s stationery list for 2023 for his little one who’s starting Grade 1 with Maurice and its enough to make a rock’s eye water!

Eugene was fuming as he shared his child’s stationery list and he believes that the 3 reams of paper are actually for the staff room and not for the child at all!

Conspiracies aside, this sounds legit! Parents came through to share their sentiments as well.

Black bags are scissors for two-year-olds? How can this not be a scam of some sort? Well, a teacher sat Eugene down and explained what all the extras are actually for. You’ll want to listen to this.

Now that makes perfect sense. Things have indeed become more expensive. The pandemic has decimated many families and the extras will not just help the other kids in the class who are just not able to afford some of the school essentials but also help teachers continue to give and teach quality education.

They’re doing the best they can with what they have in what seems like a hopeless situation.

Teachers, thank you for what you do. Your efforts don’t go unnoticed.
