As you know, the mayor has warned Cape Town residents that if we continue to use water at the current rate, it’s likely that we’ll run out by December 2017. It’s on the back of this news that 140BBDO in partnership with Smile 90.4FM launch H2ZERO – a regional water saving initiative starting in the heart of the home – the kitchen.
H2ZERO is a water saving initiative where renowned local chefs will be challenged, on Waterless Wednesday’s, to create a menu that uses absolutely no water. Big names in the Cape culinary world that have put their time and creativity into the initiative include Pete Goffe-Wood from Masterchef fame, Franck Dangereux from the Noordhoek Food Barn and Liam Tomlin from Chef’s Warehouse.
Our hope is that listeners will download the recipes and implement #waterlesscooking in their own homes. “We’re trying to create a movement in Cape Town and an even greater awareness of water usage,” says BBDO Chief Creative Officer, Mike Schalit.
