A transcendent fusion of Eastern and Western musical traditions

Symphony of Bansuri is a newly composed orchestral piece that showcases the soulful tones of the bansuri (Indian bamboo flute) alongside the power of the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra. Conceptualised and produced in Cape Town, the concert highlights the city’s place on the global classical stage while celebrating music’s unique ability to unite across cultures.

“This is not just a concert – it’s a message of peace, unity, and the power of collaboration,” says producer Nisaar Pangarker of Inner Circle Entertainment.

Chaurasia, renowned for his mastery of the bansuri and his groundbreaking collaborations, will perform live with a full orchestra for one night only. He will be accompanied by tabla virtuoso Satyajit Talwalkar, under the musical direction of Sangeet Haldipur, with Damian Philander conducting the CPO.

Music’s unique ability to unite across cultures

In a time of growing global disconnection, Symphony of Bansuri offers a rare opportunity to witness cultural harmony through music. The performance speaks to a rising global interest in mindfulness and meditative art forms. Rakesh Chaurasia promises to stir the soul and uplift the spirit with his music.
