The City of Cape Town is reminding all residents to switch to emailed municipal accounts by 31 December 2025. After this date, printed municipal bills will no longer be delivered.

The City said that over 452,000 residents have already made the change, and the City is urging residents not to get left behind.

To register, residents can send their account number and email address to Revenue.Eservices@capetown.gov.za or via SMS to 31223.

Account holders can also register online via e-Services to receive their municipal accounts via email.

“Make the switch now and enjoy quicker, more convenient billing. Making this switch will assist residents with better record keeping and it will help reduce environmental impact in the long-term,” said Siseko Mbandezi, Mayoral Committee Member for Finance.

Those who do not have an email address have been encouraged to call the City’s call centre on 0860 103 089 or to visit the nearest Customer Interaction Centre for assistance.

Mayoral Committee Member for Finance, Siseko Mbandezi, is encouraging residents not to delay.

“Avoid the last-minute rush as registration volumes are expected to spike closer to the deadline. Help us build a future-fit and sustainable Cape Town,” he said.
