Finance Minister Tito Mboweni has reportedly asked Speaker Thandi Modise to postpone next week’s Medium-Term Budget Policy statement. Mboweni was due to deliver the budget speech next Wednesday. He says recent complex decisions, taken by Cabinet, necessitates a proposed re-scheduling of his budget announcement. President Cyril Ramaphosa is due to table the country’s economic recovery plan in Parliament tomorrow.
