Europe heatwave scorches lands, thousands dead or displaced

More than 500 people have died from heat-related issues in Spain and another over 600 heat-related deaths were recorded in Portugal. This as Europe is battling raging fires caused by an immense heatwave. Firefighting team have struggled to contain the fires that have eaten away at lands in France, Spain and Portugal — forcing thousands to flee their homes. The Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sanchez, speaking through an interpreter, says the scorching weather is a serious wake-up call for the continent:
