Employment and Labour Minister Thulas Nxesi says an estimated R3.5-billion in wrongful or fraudulent covid-19 TERS payments, have been recovered to date. He says 157 cases are being investigated regarding the UIF’s Temporary Employer Relief Scheme. Nxesi says this includes instances where employers withheld employees benefits and dozens of suspected fraudulent claims.
