The Western Cape MEC for Finance and Economic Opportunities, David Maynier, says one of the province’s main focuses would be to create more jobs for its residents.

Maynier yesterday tabled both the Provincial and Municipal Economic Reviews, for the year, in the provincial legislature.

He says although the province boasts with the country’s lowest unemployment rate, currently at 27.3%, thousands of residents lost their jobs due to the covid-19 pandemic.
