Health Minister Zweli Mhkize says the Western Cape has recorded a 42% increase in new covid-19 infections over the last 7 days. According to the national resurgence plan, this significant spike is defined as a resurgence of the virus. In the last 24 hours, the province recorded 257 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the cumulative covid-19 total to 114,121.
