Ed Sheeran fans were thrown for a loop after the singer brought out Eminem as a surprise guest during his concert in Detroit, this weekend.

The Shape Of You singer, who had long been inspired by Eminem, set the stage for the unforgettable moment. He told the crowds that he and his band just rehearsed Eminem’s Lose Yourself.

‘Should I perform an Eminem song’?

“I’ve always been excited to come and play in Detroit,” Sheeran told the crowds. He said that Eminem was “one of my favourite” artists. “I wonder if I can play a cover of one of his songs for you?”

Now with the attendees filled with anticipation, Sheeran began performing the Oscar-winning track.

During the early verses of the song, a hooded figure emerged from beneath the stage, and the crowds went ballistic as it became clear: it was Eminem himself! The crowd erupted in hysteria as Sheeran and Eminem teamed up to perform a breathtaking rendition of Lose Yourself.

This was the rapper’s first public appearance since his Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction in November 2022.

That’s NOT All Folks

How can you be onstage in Detroit, with Eminem, and just perform one song? The duo then began their performance of Eminem’s 2000 hit, Stan. Sheeran provided the Dido singing, with the The Real Slim Shady rapper delivering his verses, commanding the stage.

“Detroit, I missed you,” the US rapper shouted to the ecstatic crowd. “I appreciate you, Detroit,” he said, as the duo basked in the veneration. “I love you!”

The artists have collaborated on numerous tracks in the past. Sheeran featured on Eminem’s Those Kinda Nights, and River. While the Rap God artist, and 50 Cent appeared on Remember The Name.
