Cape Town cop kills 2 hijackers

Cape Town police say two men have been shot dead, allegedly by a Cape Town police officer, during a failed hijacking this morning.

The officer was driving along Mew Way in Khayelitsha, when the attack happened.

One man was killed at the scene, while a second man died in hospital due to his injuries.

Police say the two other suspects managed to flee the scene and were still at large.

The police officer is attached to the Cape Town central police station and was driving his private vehicle to work when he was attacked.
