Four police officers who are alleged to have attacked a group of Cape Town women who apparently turned down their advances have been released on a warning after being arrested for common and grievous assault.

Rubber bullets were fired, in Leiden, Delft, at the weekend and the incident was captured on CCTV. One of the women was wounded. IPID spokesperson Grace Langa says the officers, who are members of the National Intervention Unit based in Pretoria, had driven past a group of friends, who they greeted.
