Colonel Traut says armed assailants had opened fire on the four victims at an establishment in Fransina Street, Wallacedene, at approximately 22:00 last night. He believes the incident is gang-related.

“The efforts of the South African Police Service (SAPS) to combat serious and violent crime in the Province led to the arrest of three male suspects, aged between 21 and 34, this morning.”

The Cape Town Police spokesperson says two victims, aged 17 and 20, were declared dead at the scene.

The remaining two were transported to a hospital. It was there that a third victim, an 18-year-old, later succumbed to his injuries. Traut added that the fourth victim is still in the hospital.
