The Chairperson of the Elsies River Community Policing Forum has called on police to reintroduce foot patrols in the area after three teenagers and a man were shot in Donegal Avenue on Tuesday. 14-year-old Ravensmead high school learner Jahmiel van Reenen was shot dead shortly after he left his house to walk to school. They want the City of Cape Town to address urgent issues surrounding tour bus traffic in their area and the impact of this, on their daily life and heritage. Bo-Kaap Residents Protest Members of the Bo-Kaap Civic and Ratepayers Association led the demonstration.
