Fraudsters are using fake letters bearing the SAPS logo to deceive individuals into providing personal information for illicit activities. Marine rescue authorities are searching for a missing skipper, who disappeared while attempting to swim to safety when his boat capsized near Cape Point. The Western Cape (WC) continues to record the highest number of gang-related murders in the country, with 263 cases recorded between October and December alone. This was revealed by Minister of Police, Senzo Mchunu during the release of the 3rd quarterly crime statistics on Friday morning. According to Mchunu, a large number of these murders (collectively amounting to a figure of 135) occurred in Bishop Lavis, Mitchells Plain, Kleinvlei, Delft and Elsies River.
Two alleged drug mules were caught red-handed with cocaine valued at about R7.5 million at the OR Tambo International Airport, in Johannesburg, on Friday.
